Remake Patek Philippe PP Nautilus 5722 Classic Style: How Good Are They (Honest Review of Quality and Value)

Okay, so, today I decided to do something different. I’m gonna try to remake a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5722, the classic style. I’ve always loved the look of these watches, but, you know, they’re a bit out of my price range. So, I thought, why not try to make my own version?

Getting Started

First, I needed to find some inspiration. I spent hours browsing online, looking at different Patek Philippe Nautilus watches. I found a bunch of restored ones that looked like new, and some were even modified, like this blacked-out 5711 Bamford remake I stumbled upon. Pretty cool stuff. I finally settled on the classic 5722 look. I just love the way the complicated parts of the 5712 model balance with its classic design.

Next, I looked around online for any website or blog that might have instructions on how to remake one, but could not find anything. But that’s okay, it will be fun to try on my own!

The Process

I started by gathering some parts. I found a cheap watch that had a similar shape and size to the Nautilus. I took it apart carefully, making sure not to break anything. Then, I started looking for parts that I could use to modify the watch. I found some watch hands that looked similar to the ones on the Nautilus, and a dial that I thought I could modify to fit the watch. I know it wouldn’t be a perfect replica, especially since I could not find a 5722 model dial, only 5712. I also bought some tools, like a small screwdriver and tweezers, to help me with the process.

Putting it all together was a challenge, I’m not gonna lie. I had to be super careful not to scratch the watch or damage any of the parts. I spent hours working on it, carefully placing each part in its place. I had to file down some of the parts to make them fit, and I even painted the dial to make it look more like the Nautilus. I made sure to look at the pictures of the 5712 complications to make sure my replica looked authentic.

The Result

After a lot of work, I finally finished my remake. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It looks similar to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5722, and it’s definitely a unique piece. I’m not planning on selling it or anything, it’s just a fun project that I wanted to try. It kind of reminds me of those restored watches I saw online, but with my own personal touch. Plus, I learned a lot about watches and how they work, which is pretty cool.

This was a fun experience. I’m not sure if I’ll try to remake another watch anytime soon, but it’s definitely something I’d consider doing again in the future. Maybe next time I’ll try a different model, or maybe even a different brand like Rolex or Omega. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
