Well, let me tell you, I saw this shiny thing the other day, this Patek Philippe, they call it. Fancy name, huh? This one, it’s the Calatrava 6119G-001. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But it sure is pretty, like them fancy plates my neighbor got, but smaller and you wear it on your wrist, I reckon.
They say it’s a “classic style.” Well, sure, it looks like them old-timey watches, the kind your grandpa mighta had, but all spiffed up and new. This one, it’s all white gold, whatever that means. Must be somethin’ special, costin’ as much as it does. 39mm, they say. Don’t know what that means neither, but it ain’t too big, ain’t too small. Just right, like a good bowl of porridge, I suppose. This Remake Patek Philippe, it’s got some fancy windin’ thingamajig. Gotta wind it up like them old clocks, I guess. They say it’s “manual”.
Now, this Calatrava 6119G-001, it’s got this pattern on the edge, the “bezel” they call it. Looks like a bunch of little nail heads all lined up, all fancy and such. They call it “Clous de Paris”. Sounds French, don’t it? Must be somethin’ real special. Makes it look all sparkly, like my old brooch I wear to church on Sundays. This PP Calatrava, they make a big fuss over it. Say it’s one of their best ones.
- White gold, whatever that is
- 39mm, somethin’ about the size, I reckon
- Gotta wind it up, like them old clocks
- Fancy “Clous de Paris” pattern, like little nail heads
- One of them “most distinctive” Patek Philippe models, whatever that means.
They say this Patek Philippe Calatrava is for men. “Men’s Calatrava”, they call it. But I reckon a woman could wear it too, if she’s got the money. It’s real “elegant”, they keep sayin’ that word. Means it’s real nice lookin’, I guess. Like when you get all dressed up for a weddin’ or somethin’. And it’s round, like a proper watch should be. Not like them square ones you see nowadays, what are they thinkin’?
This whole Calatrava thing, it’s a whole bunch of these Patek Philippe watches. They say they’re all “timeless”. Means they don’t go outta style, I suppose, like my old apron. Always good, always useful. And they say they’re “sophisticated”. That’s another one of them fancy words. Means they’re real fancy, I guess, but not too showy. Like that fancy china you only use when the pastor comes for dinner. This Remake Patek Philippe thing is sure somethin’, ain’t it?
They keep talkin’ about this “hobnail pattern”. That’s the same as that “Clous de Paris” thing, I reckon. Just another way of sayin’ it, I guess. And they say this Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119G-001 has a “slightly larger diameter”. Means it’s a little bigger than some of the others, I suppose. Like when you add a little extra flour to your biscuits to make ’em bigger.
Well, I don’t know much about these fancy Patek Philippe watches, but this Calatrava 6119G-001 sure is a looker. If I had the money, I might get me one. But then again, where would I wear it? To the market? To feed the chickens? Maybe not. But it’s nice to look at, ain’t it? This PP Calatrava is somethin’ else. They are all pretty, these Remake Patek Philippe.
- “Timeless”, means it’ll always be in style, I guess
- “Sophisticated”, means it’s real fancy but not too much
- “Hobnail pattern” is the same as “Clous de Paris”, I think
- “Slightly larger diameter”, means it’s a little bigger than some others
- Real pretty, but where would I wear it, to feed the chickens?
I reckon if you got the money and you want a real fancy watch, this Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119G-001 might be the one for you. It’s a classic style, that’s for sure. And it’s got all them fancy words attached to it. White gold, Clous de Paris, manual winding, 39mm, most distinctive model. This Remake Patek Philippe, it’s a real mouthful, ain’t it? But a pretty one. Like a picture in one of them fancy magazines. Just don’t go wearin’ it to muck out the barn, you hear? That wouldn’t be right. It’s too nice for that. This PP Calatrava is for special occasions.
