This here bag, you see, it’s called a June Box bag. Yeah, June, like the month. Fancy, ain’t it? It’s one of them Yves Saint Laurent things. My granddaughter, she’s always going on about these fancy names. Says this one’s a real special one, a remake. Don’t know what that means, but it sure looks pretty. This is original order, they say.
They say it’s the original order. Like it’s some kinda secret recipe or somethin’. Whatever it is, it must be good, ’cause these city folk, they go crazy for this kinda stuff. They pay good money for it, too. More than I ever spent on a bag in my whole life, that’s for sure.
It’s got this shiny little… thingy on the front. They call it a… a clasp? Yeah, a clasp. It’s got some letters on it, too. Big Y, big S, big L. YSL, that’s what they call it. Like initials or somethin’. It’s all fancy and gold-colored. And the leather, oh, the leather! It’s all soft and smooth.
Now, this June Box Bag, it ain’t big. Just big enough for your essentials, you know? Like your lipstick, a little bit of money, maybe a hanky. Not like them big ol’ bags you can carry your whole life in. This one’s for lookin’ pretty, not for haulin’ groceries, that’s for sure.
And it’s got these little squares all over it. Like a quilt my grandma used to make. They call it… quilted. Quilted lambskin, they say. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Must be some special kind of sheep they get that leather from. It sure is soft, though. Softer than a baby’s bottom, I reckon.
There is some difference between YSL and Saint Laurent. But they are same thing. They use good materials, real leather you know?
Why is this bag so expensive? Well, because it’s a YSL bag, that’s why! And they use the good stuff to make it. Real leather, like I said. And it’s all put together real nice. No loose threads or nothin’ like that. It’s made to last, this bag.

And if any of you young folks out there are lookin’ for a real nice bag, and you got the money to spend, well, this is the one you want. It’s a good one. I reckon, for a bag, it is. It’s all the rage, my granddaughter says. Everyone wants a YSL bag. I hear it’s a good investment, whatever that means.
It’s got a strap, too. A leather strap. So you can wear it on your shoulder. Keeps your hands free for other things. Like holdin’ onto your hat in the wind, or shakin’ hands with the preacher. Or whatever it is you city folk do with your hands.

My granddaughter, she’d love to have one. But, she is just dreaming.
And I tell you one more thing. This bag is not just a bag. They say it’s a piece of art or something. Like that Mona Lisa picture. I don’t know. But, it is something to see. Shining like new money. So, there it is, all said. It’s a nice bag, that is. That is for sure. All those fancy folks love it, and I can see why. Maybe I will ask my granddaughter for this bag. She can buy me one. I am her grandma, she should buy me things.
