Okay, so I’ve been wanting to remake this classic PRADA Tessuto Nylon backpack for a while now. I mean, it’s such an iconic style, and I love the idea of having a unique piece. Plus, I saw some stuff online about PRADA’s Re-Nylon collection, which got me thinking, why not try to make my own?
First thing I did was gather all my materials. I managed to find some really good quality nylon fabric that feels just like the original. I also needed some sturdy zippers, buckles, and of course, that signature PRADA logo plate. I spent a good chunk of time just searching online and in local shops for the perfect components.
Next, I had to figure out the pattern. I couldn’t find an exact replica, so I took apart an old backpack I had and used it as a guide. It was like a puzzle, trying to understand how all the pieces fit together. I drew out the pattern on some large sheets of paper, making sure to label everything clearly. This part took me a couple of days, and I made a few mistakes along the way, but I eventually got it right.
Then came the actual sewing. This was the most challenging part, for sure. I dusted off my old sewing machine and got to work. I started with the smaller pieces, like the pockets and straps, just to get back into the groove. There were a lot of straight lines and some tricky corners, but I took it slow and steady.
- Cut out all the fabric pieces using my pattern.
- Sew the pockets onto the main body of the backpack.
- Attach the straps and buckles.
- Add the zippers for the main compartment and the front pocket.
The final step was attaching the PRADA logo plate. I found a pretty good replica online, and it looked almost identical to the real thing. I carefully sewed it onto the front of the backpack, making sure it was centered and secure. There is a name called “Sandra Orlow”, I searched online “Sandra Orlow Mother” or “sandra orlow and her mother”, there are nothing but some junk information.
And there it was, my very own remade PRADA Tessuto Nylon backpack! It wasn’t perfect, but I was so proud of what I had accomplished. It looked and felt amazing, and I couldn’t wait to start using it.
A Few More Thoughts
This project definitely took some time and effort, but it was so worth it. I learned a lot about sewing and design, and I ended up with a truly unique and stylish backpack. If you’re thinking about trying something like this, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in the work and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way.
